DAY SERVICES

PAMH offers Day Service groups providing support and opportunities for people in the community who experience mental health problems. People are allocated a Key Worker to provide individual support when necessary and to enable regular review of services being provided.

The Day Services staff support structured group sessions and three social/ drop-in sessions (for existing clients) Monday and Friday, 2.00 - 4.00 pm & Wednesday 10.30am to 12.30pm. Our structured sessions vary and twelve week group programmes can include Arts & Crafts, Personal Development, Drama, Writing, Walking, Gardening, Computing and Relaxation.

The groups provide meaningful activities, the opportunity to try something new, and to identify and develop skills in a safe and creative environment. Positive experiences in the groups can help people to develop or regain their confidence and self esteem.  Self-expression is also encouraged.

It is believed that the groups help reduce isolation by allowing people to have a sense of belonging and providing opportunities to meet others. The groups help people to feel empowered and able to recognise and make choices, feel valued as individuals and hopefully more able to participate in and make a contribution to the wider community.

Currently, we need a completed risk assessment for anyone new coming to PAMH. This is to ensure that we are aware of any difficulties that there may be for the person and how we can help with them. The risk assessment must be completed with a professional (for example, GP, support worker, CPN, Psychiatrist, Social Worker) who has known the person for at least 6 months. We ask that whoever completes the form, shares the information with the person concerned and asks them to countersign it. You can download a copy of the form here
